Celebrating Newly Graduated Scaffolders in Ireland
On 21st May, an inaugural ceremony was held to celebrate newly graduated scaffolding apprentices in Co. Laois, Ireland.
This was the very first cohort of scaffold apprentices graduating from the new National Apprenticeship Programme in Ireland. Out of the twenty-six graduates, two of them proudly represented PHD.
Noel Muldoon and Keiran McPartlan have shown exceptional skills to complete the course over two years and received their diplomas during the prestigious ceremony.
Notable speakers at the event were:
Noel Muldoon was awarded a high achievement of the TopScaff award from Mount Lucas, for achieving the ‘Best Apprentice in his class’.
Tommy Larkin, Site Logistics Manager at PHD Access quoted:
I was extremely proud to attend the graduation ceremony to see the first of our apprentice’s graduate. It’s a very auspicious occasion for the industry in Ireland. Ireland has been needing this apprenticeship scheme programme for a long time. Graduates get proper training so that we can be confident to put them on a site and know that they are qualified to do the job we asked them to do.
It is a two-year intensive scaffolding apprenticeship programme for someone who is interested in the scaffolding industry and wants to pursue a career in it.
On completion of the programme, the Apprentice will hold a nationally recognised QQI Level 5 Certificate in Scaffolding.
