Barrington's Hospital George’s Quay Limerick

This hospital sat along side the Shannon River on the West Coast of Ireland

PHD bespoke solution on this Grade 2 listed building that required a Temporary Roof so the building itself could be re-roofed and had to remain fully operational during the works, including the Operating theatres directly below the main roof.

Design challenges, Being on the West Coast huge wind loads, live hospital environment, nothing to touch the facade of the building, 18m high scaffold with a Temp Roof Span 15m and 25m long, no crainage possible and inflexible delivery times due to the  one way system for traffic in this busy area.

The scaffold was completed in 6 weeks and with such a good working environment the new Roof is scheduled to be completed in 6 weeks also with some remedial works to continue once the Temporary Roof is dismantled
