Mercury Engineering faced a critical challenge at their Frankfurt data centre, requiring an urgent and reliable engineering solution. PHD rose to the occasion with remarkable efficiency and precision. Upon receiving the call on Monday, PHD swiftly formulated comprehensive designs by Wednesday. Mobilisation commenced immediately on Thursday, with teams swiftly deployed to Frankfurt, where work promptly began.

THE PROJECT

The primary task involved the construction of a heavy-duty loading gantry spanning 9m² across loading bays. This gantry featured advanced safety measures including an inertia reel safety device, ensuring optimal operational safety. Internally, PHD installed a robust floor system along with ramps, facilitating the seamless entry of machinery into the building. To enhance accessibility and security, secure access stairs were meticulously constructed, complemented by cladding and aluminium panelling to prevent unauthorized access to the phenolic ply deck.

Moreover, PHD undertook the fabrication of essential steelworks, reinforcing the structural integrity of the installation. Additional access solutions were seamlessly integrated, further streamlining operational efficiency and safety protocols.

By the close of business the following Monday, PHD successfully completed the initial phase of the project, meeting the accelerated timeline set forth by Mercury Engineering. This timely and meticulously executed response not only underscored PHD’s engineering prowess but also reinforced our commitment to delivering excellence in complex infrastructure projects.
